IceCube upgrade underway at South Pole during Antarctic summer

During the Antarctic summer of 2025/26, a comprehensive upgrade is underway for IceCube, the giant neutrino telescope located deep in the glacial ice near Amundsen–Scott Base at the South Pole, with Sweden contributing cables, new equipment, and logistical support.
